Why should you buy MCS Approved Solar Panels?
![]()
The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) certificates clean energy sources used to create electricity from heat and other renewable energy sources. These certifications are linked to financial incentives, meaning that by installing MCS approved solar panels, you could be eligible for the government’s Feed In Tariff Scheme (FIT).
MCS accredited solar panels are supported by the ‘Department of Energy and Climate Change’, as well as Non-Governmental and Industry groups. MCS Accreditation means they meet strict manufacturing and testing quality standards.
The MCS is used by the government to determine which microgeneration installations should be eligible for ‘Clean Energy Cashback’ financial incentives. There are two types of Clean Energy Cash Back; the ‘Renewable Heat Incentive’ scheme (RHI), and the ‘Feed In Tariff’ scheme. Our solar panels come under the FIT scheme, as opposed to products which generate their own heat, which come under the RHI Scheme.
Once MCS Approved Panels have been installed, you are provided with an MCS Certificate. This is used for registration with a Feed In Tariff Licensee (an Electricity Company). There is no change to FIT payments once you have registered, even if the MCS Approved Solar Panel is removed from the MCS list after registration.
If you’d like to reduce your carbon footprint and invest in solar photovoltaics, find out if you’re eligible for our MCS Approved Solar Panels. Please don’t hesitate to Contact Us for more information.
